I rode down a section of route 66 in Arizona Saturday on the way back to Abilene. Saw several Burma Shave signs along the way. Got off I-40 at Seligman, AZ and took old route 66 for about 14 miles before getting back on the freeway. Brought back some memories.

To check the tank

We still have many Stuckey Texaco stops out West at isolated crossovers. Because of the long, lonesome stretches of highway, we also have occasional "Gift Shop" stores along the feeder roads -- like this one at Akela, New Mexico. It is like a gaudy tourist trap with loud colors and also a Rattlesnake Museum inside. Pause at your own risk!
