The first thing I do when I get in the car with Rick is to turn his radio down. He likes it loud.

I like it loud if I'm cruising along/alone on the highway.

It's not a necessity to turn the volume up, but I'd bet that day is coming too. I find when we have a conversation, at times, we both give/get an answer that is out of left field, because we didn't hear properly.

same here and the action of turning down the volume is accompanied by a comment that I truly hate . . . ARE YOU DEAF???

Answer: Yep and its probably from listening to you and your friends screaming all the time.

Remember when you used to play your radio/stereo at high volume because it was cool? Are you finding yourself playing it louder now so you can hear it?
Yep, but it's still cool.

I was thinking yesterday when I was cruising down the highway with the top down and the sun on my face how neat it is to crank the volume up, then I realized the volume was already up . . .

Raymo guy, you and your one-liners should be on stage.

Since I no longer hear or understand anything anymore, I just smile politely and nod at what I hope is the appropriate time.

^^ I believe that is called "selective hearing". I've noticed Jim suffers from that malady as well. He also sighs heavily and often leaves the room afterward . . . wonder what that's all about.

That's that "I give up/don't give a crap" move. Know it well.

My wife keeps telling me to turn the volume down, are you deaf? I'll have buy one of those "magic ears." Too many years around jet engines.

My wife also asks me to turn it down. I also find that some actors talk too fast for me to follow it. I wish there was a way to slow them down
