Remembering Jeanne Traphagan
A friend of mine died yesterday. I don't know yet the circumstances of her death, but I hadn't seen her in a couple of years. We played together in our community symphony, and quite simply she was the finest french horn player I've ever known.
She always took responsibility for things in the symphony, and she was wonderful to talk to. Both she and I had been presidents of the symphony, at different times.
Jeanne was in her mid-60s, I believe. I am very saddened to lose her, and I will cherish the times when she played principal horn to my principal trumpet and we made great music together.
She and her husband Willis -- also a brass player -- have a magnificent green MGB which they've kept in pristine condition since it was new. Willis must be really hurting right, and my heart really goes out to him. I'm hoping to lend some measure of solace when I visit with him over the weekend during calling hours.
Good bye, Jeanne. Make a loud, dark noise!

I'm also sorry to hear about your good friend, Chaz. You have good memories of making great music together with Jeanne. It's another example of the axiom, "Live every day...."
I can still remember thinking, as a kid, how long will my parents live
Now, I know that the answer was to be 1980 and 1986
My older brother is not well....so the question moves to his life: 2005? 2006? Sorry to ramble....

Chaz,
Sorry to hear of your loss of a friend.
Here is something I was given when my mom passed away:
"Death is that state in which one lives in the memories of others......... That is why it is not an End.........."
"May your memories of Jeanne be but a new beginning for her, as well as you"
Take Care,
Jim

Sorry to hear about your loss, Chaz. She lives on in your memory and no one can take that away. Making music together is one of the best memories one can have in my book. I'm sure you will be a comfort to her husband by being there in his time of need. Your S2K family be praying for you and the family of your friend.

So sorry, Chaz.
