Beautiful. How about of pic of that wallpaper mural? I have one large wall that I was thinking of doing something like that on, probably in a smaller scale.
Thanks,

Don't have a pic yet, But I'll take some and post latter.

Another bump in the re-do.

The carpenter spent the day at our house yesterday making the countertop.

He took my nice new sink out of the box to take measurements and found that it's scratched on the inside and dented on the outside.

So, a new one will be ordered today. I HOPE to see it delivered and installed late next week.

We're doing OK camped in the living room, but I really don't care for camping.

Bummer Lainey about the sink. You seem to be taking everything in stride though. I'm learning so much from your remodel. I plan to do my kitchen next year and I probably should print out this thread when you're finished. Hang sista, hang.

The project is taking a LOT longer than I thought. Our living room is fairly large so our temporary kitchen is working out OK. All the boxes of kitchen stuff are stored in the basement, so I'm not living in a mess. That I can't do very well.

On the plus side: I like all my selections so far. He laid out the formica for the countertop yesterday. Since you select the countertop from a piece that is about 3" x 3" it's good to see the selection as it actually looks in the house.

Oh, and I'd bet I'm the only girl on my block whose husband used the kitchen table to prepare a shrimp and garlic dish for dinner last evening, only to cook it on a hot plate in the bathroom. (ON A VERY CLEAN VANITY TOP). If the shrimp and garlic dish "hits the deck" during cooking it's much easier to clean a bathroom floor than my very pretty light colored carpet in my living room.

There's a poll: Do you cook in the bathroom?

Looks like a nice project. But I always thought paving bricks are supposed to be laid over packed sand and not concrete -- both to save money as well as for drainage. So why did you choose to lay the bricks over concrete?

Holy moly, Lainey!!!! I think you had exactly the same kitchen cabinets that we did before our remodel... Were they wood-mode?

Check this out (from our old kitch...):
