Holy moly, Lainey!!!! I think you had exactly the same kitchen cabinets that we did before our remodel... Were they wood-mode?
They were actually custom built in place birch cabinets.

I think the black hardware was a late 60's thing, just like the PINK bathroom fixtures we had replaced a few years ago.

Lainey, have a look at the pictures I put into that post above. Look how similar they are!

Pretty close! Your wood looked a bit more "grainy" is that a word?

Your project was way bigger than ours. What was your total renovation time?

We're starting week five today, as I mentioned in another post. I'm hoping two more weeks will finish it up, but I expect a few odds and ends to lag a bit longer.

Lainey!!! We were about 2 months from start of demolition until granite installed. We started at the beginning of May, and we had the kitchen back for use during the 4-July weekend party...

Best of luck!

Hmmm... We remodeled our home several years ago, and we kept the pink bath tub in one of the bathrooms because it was too much trouble to move it out. In fact, we bought new pink fixtures to go with that tub.

It was a lot of trouble to move it out. But it had to go as there had been a problem with leaking and a bit of rotted floor underneath. We had the room gutted for that re-modeling job.

Truth be told, the quality of the old pink tub wins hand down over my new fiberglass tub. I have had to have repairs to the fiberglass tub and I wonder if it will last 35 years like the pink porcelain (or whatever it was) did.

I could not wait to be rid of the pink fixtures and was to find they are back in style and actually available.

I'm getting a countertop today! The painter has done some prep work and will be back on Monday. The carpenter plans to work all weekend. Maybe by the end of next week I'll have some AFTER pics to post.

I've got a countertop, I've got a backsplash. I got some paint, more paint tomorrow, all that will be left will be the plumber and the electrician!

Dean, where are your pics of your project? Still waiting here. Or are you still

I'm still plugging away at it. We've had a house full of company since Martha got back from Savannah, so I haven't been able to do much.
I'm hoping to have this done by the American Tricentennial, but I wouldn't put any money on it.
