Dex,

First let me say that I am sorry for your loss of a family member. Secondly, how would you feel if it were you and your family did not honor your last wishes.

I agree with the concept of a gathering perhaps six months or on the anniversary of her death to celebrate her life not morn her passing. Far enough "down the road" that people will be over their grief and can exchange happy memories of the time spent with her and exchange stories.

This is the kind of party that I have in my will. I have left instructions for just such a celebration including the dollars set aside from my insurance to cover the cost.

Regards,
Matt_inVA

P.S. Besides, a few months from now no one will feel guilty about eating that WONDERFUL cheese cake that you will bring.

Thanks Matt,
You make a good point - it's just hard to gather the scatterd family but the idea is sound. Her body joined her spirit friday and there is a relief of sorts.

BTW, S&S does ship that cheescake all over the place, I recall seeing it on a menu in LA many years ago. (S&S Cheescake, 238th St, Bronx, NY 10471 or 10463

I'm sure there is relief, Dex. It sounds like she was a real fighter. I hope your idea for the family remembrance works out.

That cheesecake certainly made a big impression!!
