I understand In and Out Burger.

When we lived in Southern California in the early to mid 80's they had a contest with the local radio station running. If one was spotted with an In and Out Burger bumper sticker on your car, the radio station aired your license plate number and if you called in one won a cash prize. The family owned and operated In and Out Burger cancelled the promotion when it became apparent that people were cutting off the bottom out side edges of the bumper sticker to read:

In and Out
urge

P.S. Yes, I have posted this before.

I have a former co-worker that graduated from the University of Maryland along with the President, CEO, Founder of Outback. By all accounts, it is NOT an import, just pure ingenious marketing, from what I can tell.

This weekend in Tyler, TX I dined at McDonalds, Sonic and the hotel we stayed at (Holiday Inn Select). The hotel served an excellent roast beef buffet this afternoon to all us bridge players. Very cheap dining that.

I recommend Jason's Deli. There is a new one here in Abilene and I know of one in San Antonio. Great sandwiches, salad bar and soups.

My favorite Subway sandwich is a ham & pepper-jack cheese with oil & vinegar.

bon appetite

When you reference Roy's? Which restaurant are you referring too? Not Roy Yamiguchi's? Is that what you mean?
Yup, Roy Yamaguchi's. OSI has a habit of buying successful "concept" restaurants and they also like the higher end in many of their smaller chains.
Carraba's is called a partnership but from an investor standpoint it is looked at as a a wholely owned subsidiary of OSI. I am sure that the Carraba Bros. have a fairly large stake in OSI or they have been rewarded quite handsomely. Carrabas is the second lagest chain in the corp. (I believe that there are around 2-300 stores in the chain, but the number has left my brain.)
With Cheeseburger In Paradise, they pay a royalty to Jimmy Buffett for each resaurant.

In my humble opinion "Cheeseburger in Paradise" should be paying him restitution for damaging the spirit of his song, along with his reputation.

We ate at the one on Maui a few years ago. Largely because Plant Pixie wanted to pick up a T-Shirt for her (somewhat of a ) Parrot Head sister. The food and the service was horrible. The burger was overcooked, dried out and almost cold. The server could have cared less about his job. We will never eat at their locations again.

Carraba's is an Outback restaurant along with Bonefish, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Roy's, Flemings, Selmon's and a number of others.
Maccaroni Grill is not one of those under the OSI umbrella. (I have a friend that manages an Cheeseburger otherwise known as CIP.)

I also like PF Chang's.
I asked Martha about it and she said that she knew that the boys had sold the company. But she didn't know that it was to Outback.
I've never heard of any of the other restaurants you listed. We don't have any of them here.

I also like their knock-off, Krystal's. The closest one to me is in Ocala, which is probably a good thing.

There are a number of them in the Houston area also. I ate at them quite a bit when I was living there. I was surprised to find that there's one here in Orlando too.
Now if we could get a Schlotzsky's here...

I am not sure that CIP is in Maui, could it have been Margharitaville. (A chain that was actaully started by Jimmy B.) I went to one in Key West and was not impressed.
