I asked Martha about it and she said that she knew that the boys had sold the company. But she didn't know that it was to Outback.
I've never heard of any of the other restaurants you listed. We don't have any of them here.

Cracker Barrel for breakfast

I ate breakfast at my first Cracker Barrel in Albuquerque, NM. When I returned to CA, I immediately checked the web for the nearest one. It in AZ.
I seriously made a mental note to visit it if I'm ever in So. Cal!
I recommended it to a couple co-workers who were on a trip to Detroit, and they loved it! The regular pancakes and pecan pancakes come HIGHLY recommended (blueberry pancakes are pretty darn good too, but a bit too many blueberries for me). The sausages, etc. are ok-- but the scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese is quite good.
The FRENCH TOAST is what I would drive 1000 miles for!!! It is SO good!
I'm flying for business to Dallas, TX and guess what restaurant I google-mapped? I even set my departure flight for the afternoon so I could enjoy the a good un-rushed Cracker Barrel breakfast.
Note: Expect a 30-40 min wait for 2 people, and over an hour for 4 or more people. BUT IT IS WORTH IT.
<-- mouth watering right now from the memory of my last visit

They weren't much better when I was a kid in Brooklyn either.

Hey flts, you're kidding I hope. Maybe the White Castles are different where you are, but after a few up here you need a stomach pump. Maybe the emergency room. They're horrible.

I'm serious about my White Castles. I have friends who bring me a hot 48 pack in their luggage on the airplane. That way they know I'll be at the airport to pick them up.

The burgers are almost bite-sized, for those who are recoiling in horror at the thought of someone eating 10 of them
