Back in school I can remember Chick and Spiro Gyra the same night.

Never heard of them. Thanks for the post Jerry. Music I could love and music my wife hates (don't ask me why). That was great. I listened to the entire video (16 min). My friend Jim and I really enjoyed it. RIP Chick; must have been young.

Wow, thanks I just saw this post. I hadn't heard that he died. Great talent! I began listening to him on the first Return To Forever album in the early 70's.
What a shame he is gone.

I was just going through my jazz collection over the weekend and was playing his Light Years album. I have no idea how I missed his death. A true Jazz pioneer.

The good thing about getting older is I pulled this thread up again and listened to the intro again without recalling I already had. Still like it; wife would not.
