Silly me, I was going to try to use Naval Jelly to get the rust off the utility trailer that I was given by my Father-in-Law a few years ago.

I've used it for cleaning up old cast iron cookware. It works very well on those small items -- Matt, you may need to immerse your trailer in a swimming pool...

I've been aware of this method for years but can't say I know anyone who has done it.

Sandblasting or commercial dipping for big stuff.

Naval jelly works very well. That's all I used on an MG restoration and whenever possible I painted the parts with Rust-olin (sp?). It all held up great for over 30 years.
