Depends on what you want. I've got a fireproof model recommended by Consumer reports for copies of things that are in a courthouse a few states away. I keep some small valuable / irreplaceable things locked up at the bank. A friend of mine has an actual bank vault in his shed (it's more like a gymnasium) that he keeps stuff in, but that's probably overkill.
One thing that I remember from the Consumer Reports article was how differently the safes that they tested performed, and how unrelated it was to cost.

If you happen to want a bank vault (or the door, at least) I know where there is one in North East Mississippi. It's probably available for free, judging from the condition of the building that it's in.
