I've heard he runs a great camp.

BTW, did you mean Wilmington NC? That's a long way from Asheville.
Oops. yes Wilmington, NC.

Good luck with the sale. Don't stop hanging around here though!

Can I still come to visit your complex sometime? Will you still be doing the detailing thing?

The time has come to sell the 04 S. I have owned an 00 and now the 04 since 10/99 and it has been 10 years of fun, pride and satisfaction. Since retiring our life style has changed and in all honesty we dont use the car as much as we should. I have an 02 Jeep Wrangler in great condition which we use on the beach to surf fish or just hang out with friends and family. I plan to upgrade my bike to a new Trek Madone 6.9 as I actively bike with a local cycling club and plan to enter some local races and charity rides as well as participate in the Senior Olympics (Cycling) which are being held in October. I will greatly miss the camradeire I have experienced on this site but even though I will be S-less I plan to check in from time to time. Thanks for the memories.
Confession time--I sold my S2000 over a year ago, along with my Baja Islander 255. When you've got a 16 month and a four year old running around, it just makes sense.

One thing I've learned since NOT owning an S2000, or a boat--I'm not closing the door on owning one again. It still pains me to see S2k's on the road, and to know that I sold my AP1 ('00 with less than 22k miles), when I know I would have used it once the kids got older.

Let that be a lesson to everyone on Vintage--don't sell!

I'll own one again, but for now, I'm enjoying my life and my kids. I hope everyone on this board enjoys what they have now as well, whether it's more or less than they had "before".

The +1 saw my old one a couple of days after I traded it in. A young guy was driving it.

I've toyed with the idea of selling more than once. Due to it's stiff ride my +1 can not ride in it. Secondly, I know my track days are probably numbered due to my eyes, reflects, etc. Thirdly, I don't feel I use it enough. HOWEVER, I think it's a wonderful car that's worth more to me than someone would be willing to buy it for. Looking at what the future holds gives me even more reason to want to hold on to it. Clearly hybrids and alternative-fuel vehicles are in the forecast with Honda likely offering a hybrid sports car - which may be pretty cool but I am sure it won't meet the S2000 for driving enjoyment. I've come to the conclusion that there is no point in saying goodbye to my S2000 unless I absolutely have to.

I'd still have it if I had the space. As it is, the S2000 "space" is taken up by stroller and kid's toys. I say "kid's toys" as opposed to "adult toys", such as the S2k.

It sold for FAR LESS than I thought it was worth, to a teenage girl just getting ready for college.

Been there - done that. I recall selling my 1963 Vette for the same reasons. Believe me, in the end, family is all that really matters.
