I hope it works for you, Jerry. That was the last effort by my doc before we moved to surgery. However, I did have that cuff tear, and not frozen shoulder, that may be key as to treatment protocol. Frozen shoulder is a biatch.

So, did this one give you anything to keep you more comfortable?

Harry, glad you shoulder is feeling better.

Got my direct cortisone injection into the joint this morning.
basically they used continuous low power x-ray to position the needle.
looking forward to seeing the bill.
Read the quoted words aloud to get a sense of how long the procedure took.
I was brought into the xray room and laid on the table.
" ok were just going to wash off the shoulder area"
"we're just going to cover up the shoulder. it might cover your eyes a little."
"Your going to feel a little pinch "
"ok and a little pressure"
"ok and a little more pressure"
"Ok we're all done"

I'll be generous and say the whole procedure took 90 seconds.
Granted it was a Doctor, a nurse and an X-ray tech. still looking forward to see the bill.

On the plus side, along with quick it was utterly painless
have made it through the day,
without much pain,
until I got home tonight and stupidly started using it more,
doing the stupid things that hurt.....
you know, the stuff that proves I'm an idiot.

Mine was done under ultrasound. I think it was at least a $1500.00 bill, if not more. The kicker was there was a screw up in the referral issue and other paperwork problems. I'm not sure the hospital ever got paid, I know I didn't dish out $$.

Report in tomorrow as to how it feels. Mine hurt like ##$$# the next day. And let the medication do it's work for a few days. Don't overuse the arm.

My doc took the Neanderthal approach. He firmly felt around in my shoulder until he got his thumb on whatever he wanted to find and then put the needle in just over the top of his thumb.

I'll tell you what, two days out and it's feeling inordinately better.
While I didn't quite sleep through the whole night I only woke once briefly and I didn't get up.
I can't recall the last time that happened over the last 4 or 5 months.

Good to hear, Jerry. Guided shots vs "blind" shots can make a difference. Hope improvement continues.

First let me say how wonderful it is to have a good nights sleep and wake generally without pain.
It has been a very, very, long time since that last occurred.
PT gently worked it over yesterday and relieved a lot of the tightness.

I got the bill for the injection. We easily hit the $10 per second mark at $1400 between the hospital and Doctor charges.
I'm not complaining ( see above comment) just mildly amused.
While it was covered by insurance, I would have gladly paid it out of pocket 4 months ago to get to this point.
