I think I may have posted this before, but the loss of my pets was much harder on me than when my parents passed. Must be because to me, they were like my children.

 

Same here. Especially my dog, Kyras and my cat, Zoro.

 

Our sympathies. It's never easy to say goodbye.

 

I found the same. I think it was because my Great Dane was always right next to me for me to put my hand on. My parents were thousands of miles away and seldom seen. Even years later I think of the dogs as often if not more often than I do my parents. (What's that about?)

I spent the afternoon looking at the rescue dog site. A one-year old Heeler mix looks great in video but when I read some of the characteristics I have doubts its what we need.

 

If you are looking for a dog that is fairly relaxed that breed is not! I have had friends with dogs like that and they are constantly moving trying to herd something.

 

We have 2 similar chests in our bookcase. but no plaques. That is very, very nice, Bob. Have to see about doing it for our Westies Maggie and Mr. Jingles.
