Okay, I'm glad to see the cats are making a stronger showing...

valentine, I think my favorite nickname for the Coon is 'the gentle giants'.

Kyras, wow, Zoro is beautiful!

tenblade2001, oh man, Oscar seems to have a great disposition.

Late to the thread, here are pics of my two babies. Pure breeds, show cat lineage
$500 each and ton$ more invested. I've got two cat trees 8-feet tall and when
the female is chasing the male around the house (Male Coons retain a kitten-nature
well into maturity, which for coons takes 3-4 years) he'll jump on that tree and the damn
thing will lean off it's base, that's how big he is. And yes, you read the part about
her chasing him correctly...Lynx allows Koa her moments of aggresiveness unless he's not in
the mood and then one swipe of those huge bear paws and she wants no part of him.
He weighs 22-lbs (a bit on the heavy side) while she's around 12-lbs (slightly large for a female).
Any 'coon that weighs more than 25-lbs is overweight and most full grown males
weigh between 17-20-lbs. Stories of their weight are greatly exaggerated because
they are such massive cats (tall, very muscular, thick-coat) and look every bit the
pounds.
These cats whine when you won't let them in the bathroom (unlike most cats,
Maine Coons love the water) and Lynx has been known to hop in the shower
when it's running which is fine because their fur, thin on the top (to easily allow them free passage in the woods) while thick on the bottom to shield them from the snow, is water repellent. In a nutshell, they are cats for dog lovers!

Here's a pic of Lynx with my girl. Be careful with Maine Coon cats. If you let
them sleep with you as kittens, you'll end up fighting them for a spot on the bed
when they're older...and they have a habit of waking you up at sunrise with a not-so-
gentle head butt to remind you it's feeding time. Lynx will hit your head so damn
hard, it will wake you from a sound sleep and trust me, you want that option rather
than him climbing on your chest and purring in your face because it's like someone
placing two bowling balls on you.

Here's the female, KOA in full colors:

Another one of Lynx (looking for mischief). He was making too much noise tormenting this furry mouse I bought him so while he was out of the room, I hid
it on my computer desk and it took him all of ten seconds to find it. He looked at
me like, "are you kidding me? try again."
and finally
the two together:

Great photos, Russ. I especially like the one with your girl since it gives a good idea of how big they really are, and the paws on her head are really cute too.

I don't have any pics on my computer at work, but I have six dogs. (My girlfriend and I are doing the "Brady Bunch" thing )
Mine:
Darwin - Australian Shepherd - rescued from a mall pet store
Wallace - Who knows? - rescued from a pound
Maya - Mostly Black Lab (if not all) - wandered up to my door when she was a puppy

Hers:
Mac - Golden Retriever mix - rescued from a shelter
Babe - Mostly Black Lab - rescued from an abusive and neglectful owner
Annie - Who knows, but appears to be part Husky/Chow - wandered up to my door as a puppy at ~10 weeks old

They're an interesting cast of characters, and things are certainly going to be interesting when we're all under the same roof.

Great pics everyone.

Here is Ted - our Old English Sheep Dog.

Looking for that rabbit or white squirrel.

His greatest irritation.
