Bumping this thread to post my new kitty photos. Since Zoro died, I got two kittens. As of today, my new Siamese boy, Zion, is four months old. I've had him for almost 5 weeks. He's been extremely slow to warm up and hid behind the dryer for weeks. He's getting comfortable now, finally. He very affectionate at night, and wants pets when I'm in bed.

I also got my Bengal girl, Talia, 3 days ago. She's just 10 1/2 weeks old. She's already exploring part of the house. She and Zion just laid eyes on each other, today. I still have her sleeping in her own safe place at night and will put her there when she's scared. She has my small bathroom downstairs.

Crystal is not happy with "kids" in the house. Once Zion and Talia get acquainted and start tearing up the house, I think they'll leave Crystal to her grumpy old self and she'll be happier.

You can't make me believe that cats don't know what they're doing with their tail. My ex said they had no control over it.

In the following 6 photos, Zion walks by Crystal, who he's really trying to be friends with, and hugs her with his tail. She's not interested in being friends and after almost 5 weeks together, she's still hissy with him.

Zion has softened Crystal up some, though. She finally lets him in her bed once in a while.

This is a five year old photo of my son’s amazing dog, Denali, a malamute and wolf hybrid. He was a gentle dog that loved attention and was well known in the Durango, CO area where he was taken on daily walks. He generally intimidated most strangers with a wolf like penetrating stare that showed no emotions. In this photo my wife just gave him a rawhide bone as a gift which he destroyed and consumed within fifteen minutes. Denali had massive jaw strength. He died in late 2010.

Love the pet pics. Patty, I totally agree with you that cats (and dogs) control their tails and bodies. I think (of course I'm not a pet behaviorist) that many animals are FAR more intelligent that humans give them credit for.

Kitty pics are cute...I like the one in the cat bed. I can see where the name of the marble "cat's eye" comes from. Talia's eyes look just like two marbles!

Denali's head is massive!

Patty, love your kitty pics, and the fact the Crystal is starting to accept Zion. Love the "meet up" pic of Zion and Talia. Enjoy the new babies. Like human babies, they don't stay cute forever.

Gary, beautiful BIG dog there!! Wow!

A gentle giant, huh? How much did Danali weigh? He was huge. I love Alaskan Malamutes. They, along with German Shepherds, are my favorite dog breeds. Oh, and then there's the Shiloh Shepherd. My brother-in-law wants one. He says he a dog person but after seeing photos of Talia he might become a cat person.

Patty, I agree with your tail observations. Cats most definitely display their moods using their tails. Siamese are particularly good at it - they’ve turned their tails into an emotional art form.

Wait until the kitties fully discover the cat habitat you assembled, you won’t believe how well they can climb.

About Denali – his weight was normally ~ 165 lbs. In the photo with my wife he was a bit overweight. Due to his excessive shedding he was only allowed inside during the winter months.

Do the dustbunnies under my furniture count as pets?

More proof that it's good that he is your ex.
