Something else we did wrong!
There were no strollers when I grew up. When you got too big for a baby carriage (pram) you walked. Of course that slowed down the parent but it was good for the child's physical development.
I am always surprised when I see big kids being pushed around by their parents. You don't see that in Europe.
We did have a stroller for my kids. They were 18 months apart. When the younger one was ready for the stroller the older one walked.

When I mentioned the thread to my wife she quickly stated" Tell them to get their butts out of the stroller and make 'em walk."
Lazy parents use strollers as a way of controlling their kids.
Think I touched a nerve....

We had a carriage for Anika when she was very young, but half the time we carried her in a sling or one of the newer front carry devices. That carriage had reversible handles, so Anika got to see in both directions.
We used a small collapsible stroller for extreme cases where she might need to sleep. Otherwise she walked with us.

Sometimes the walking is just too much, like at amusement parks like Disney. I've seen some pretty big kids in strollers there. I don't have a problem with that. It's hot and there is a lot of ground to cover. If you want to get your money's worth out of that admission price $$$$$ , and not deal with a really hot, tired, whiny kid, a stroller is not a bad idea.
Sometimes, control is a good thing.
We rarely used a stroller.
If they got tired they went up on the shoulders.
#1 son developed an amusing abit when he was up there though.
if he knew I had his feet he loved to "fall off"
He'd just let go and fall backwards.
In order to get him back in position I'd just bend real quick and pop him back up. for a while it was a fun game.
When he got long enough for his head to hit my tail bone it got kinda old.
There was that one time in the grocery line when the dear little old lady who thought the infant was really falling off. She really didn't seem very amused.

I find these studies hilarious, whats next we should drive our cars with the passenger facing us.
Some researchers truly have to much time and money on there hands.
