No black widows to worry about here. The biggest PIA is running into the webs under my porch. They also like our cars.

I use Home Defense from Home Depot, among other stores, in drier southern California and it works well on black widows. I spray holes or openings where they like to hide out in during the day. I normally see a few dead ones a day or two later. They make super messy nests or webs, unlike the elegant webs of garden spiders for catching insects. I spray the base of all the outside and garage walls and all around the window casings, outside. I rarely use it in the house because I don't like the lingering smell but it seems to keep the buggers out for me.

My neighbor has the same issue. He uses this and likes it. so I may try it. Thanks Kyras

Oh, good! You're welcome. I use in generously outside and it lasts for a long time for me, like over 6 months, I guess. In other words, I make it wet where I've been.

Going to Lowes tomorrow to buy some. I sent the spiders a warning to get out of dodge now or die.

Ray, be sure to sweep out the area and get rid of any eggs.
