Ford is offering great products and their CEO has kicked butt in getting them to this level. I would definitely consider one next time around. I alos think Chevy is offering nice products too.

Chevy really needs a good small car (does that sound familiar??). The crap they re-badge (Aveo) is not worth the money. A used Civic or Fit would be a better investment.

I said it here once before, that I was impressed with the Ford Fusion, a rental car I drove in Pa & Md last fall. Put about 900 miles on it, very comfortable, drove well, good pickup. Not ready to buy one though.

I have heard nothing but really good feedback on that car. I know Jumpy wasn't interested in American but if it were my mom; honestly, I would give it a look and compare it.

I still haven't had the chance to test drive my parents' Ford CONFusion (as they calls it - due to the large number of warning beepers and signals in the electronics). They like it, but then, they also liked their Sable station wagon that they just got rid of.

different strokes. I guess that's why there're so many auto choices available. I'm still always kind of surprised by how many people couldn't care less about cars and simply want transportation with no regard for the "feel" and the way a car handles. They just want something to take them from point A to point B. That's fine with me as long as I can get something that gives me a driving experience that I enjoy.

I voted with the TSTT crowd....hoping that the trend for American improvement continues.

Interestingly, my +1 is the one that's adamant AGAINST an American car....after she had some really scary episodes with out Plymouth Voyager minivan in the late 1980s....

The same with Audi, right.

Did you hear that Akio Toyoda, top dog at Toyota, left a press conference a week or so ago and drove off in a Audi! True story.

BTW, believe it or not, Toyota had still ANOTHER recall today, this time on their truck. That ship is sinking FAST.
