[QUOTE=valentine,Oct 23 2008, 07:34 AM]It is very, very sad but there will never be an end to those who feel the need to hurt other people in order to hide their own insecurities.

The suicide rate for adults betwen 40 and 64 has increased as well. My daughter works in the mental health area and she said the recent downturn in the economy, loss of jobs and homes has taken it's toll on older folks and some have chosen this way out. She tries to counsel people who have contemplated this decision and helps them get professional help. Her advice is to encourage people to talk about it and let them know of your concern as well as your willingness to help them get help. So sad in this case because of his young age. Kids can be cruel.

I always thought Acton kids were kinder than that, being that it's such a small town with a small school district and that most kids know each other.
Very sad, but not a surprise...

....I just rememebered too, that in Jr. High and High School, I was considered nerdy by some. ....
Me too....sounds like a recurring theme here in OTOH, no one was really MEAN to me....mabye b/c there were others who were even MORE nerdy!
I am still in touch with one of these guys, who recently retired as a NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the Richmond area! He still is into some strange avocations, but....then again....he thinks my S2000 is a little strange
