I'm sold. I just put one in my Amazon cart along with a 10' piece of 400lb para cord that glows in the dark so I can make an improvised lanyard for it.

I'm rarely without my old SureFire E1L.

Yes, i saw that. I actually felt better when I saw it takes 4. I would not trust claims of running times if it was only two.

What appealed to me were:

It can use store bought batteries
It will lay flat without rolling
3 intensity settings

also not mentioned:
The buttons are on the base of the torch vs the side.

Biggest thing you need to determine first... rechargeable vs batteries.

Rechargeable looks to have some of the brightest light, and longest usage times.

Disadvantage of rechargeable.... if you don't keep it charged, won't be ready for use.

Non-rechargeable.... throw in 2-4 new batteries and off you go.

Been replacing all my high quality Harbor Freight (laugh) flashlights with ones like this...
Amazon Amazon

Not 1000 Lumens.... but they do what I need done....

Question... what are you really wanting to use this flashlight for?

Lighting up pitch dark areas of the great outdoors. Sometimes I want to light up my boat from the deck of my house which is over 100 feet away. Sometimes I'm running my small boat down the river in the dark to do some night fishing. It is good to be able to light up objects that are over 100 feet away. Also for use on the beach while surfcasting at night. Otherwise, just to have a small comfortable high intensity light.
