Default Text Justification Problem

The text justification on this site is "centered" instead of "left". Is anyone else experiencing this? Or is it some setting on my end?

When I view the Vintage Forum Topics page (the one that lists this topic) all the Topics (for example) are center justified. Can someone who's viewing this thread give me a simple answer. NO it does not appear that way for me or YES that's how it's appearing for me.

OK. I really didn't think this would be that tough of a question.

If you text starts on the left side of the text box it's known as Left Justification.

But if it starts in the center it's known as Center Justification.

Since none of the dozen or more people who have looked at my thread have taken the 2 seconds to answer my question, I can only assume that they are all seeing Left justification.

Mine looks fine. It must be a setting on your computer

Are you using Norton Internet Security? It tends to chew the pages up and spit them out the way it sees fit. It's worse on this site than most for some reason.

If you are try disabling it and see if that helps. I ended up uninstalling all the Norton stuff and replacing it with McAfee. No problems now and my machine runs better too.

Didn't see this post until this morning since I wasn't online last night, but I do not have that problem.

Yes, it is Norton Inernet Security that causes this problem (and others!). It is their ad-blocking protocol that does it. Very often their updates cause the problem to reappear.

On my version (2006) you open the Security Center, go to the Anti-Spam tab, then click on "configure." When that dialog opens, click on "advanced." You will now see an option to "add" sites. Add s2ki.com and configure it to permit ads. Click all the OK's it asks for. You may have to reboot to get it to work

Good Luck. I will be dumping Norton when my current subscription expires. It is also a terrible resource hog on the P/C as raymo pointed out.

BTW, if a moderator is listening, this thread belongs in the Site Info Forum.

That is definitely what is causing the problem. I just installed Norton 2006. If I turn off the entire Anti-Spam feature it eliminates the problem.

I tried following the steps you outlined for one site but I must be doing something wrong, as it will not allow me to add s2ki.com. My steps were as follows:

1. Norton Internet Security
2. Norton Anti-Spam
3. Ad Blocking
4. Configure
5. Advanced
6. Add Site
7. type in the name of the site: www.s2ki.com
8. it then appears of their listing
9. highlight it
10. Add
11. Permit
12. OK
13. Turn off/restart

When I check the listing the site no longer appears??

I've never encountere that problem, but I have had problems in the past with Norton being a resource hog.

Dave, it appears some of the guys here are helping you go in the correct direction.

Do you want me to leave this thread her or move it to site info as suggested? There may be extra computer gurus over there who can put their .02 in.
