I've discovered that this is not true if the pot's been cooking in the oven. HPH

you sir are a scholar.
I will observe that I have independent research which confirms your hypothesis.

We had several Revere Ware pots, but not enough for all my wife's cooking. We tried the non-stick stuff but we didn't like to eat the chemicals that come off of them after a while. So a few years ago I decided to fill in a couple of missing sizes in our stainless steel collection. I went to the local Revere Ware store and found that the classic copper clad pots are no longer available (at least at that store). So I looked on eBay and bought exactly the sizes that I needed. Although the pots are manufactored in the late '70 to mid '80, they were in excellent condition and now my wife is enjoying her pots. If anyone want to buy good usable Revere Ware, look on eBay.
