There is hope!
Great tech tip. Damn, just a week too late. I got the bright idea to touch up a couple stone chips on the Audi I'm selling. Went to the store and bought this set up and watched this video; heck, I can do that.

I was impressed with the little pencil sander since the two chips I had were big enough to use it easily and since it was a black car and the undercoating was white it was easy to clean out and prep for the color. I put the color on the larger chips with the brush and a few smaller ones with the fine point. My big concern was the two large chips. Came back in 1/2 hour and the paint had smoothed itself out just like they said it would and it looked great.
I love it when a plan comes together. I should have stopped right then and there.
But, thinking the last step would go as nice as the rest, I put the clear seal on with the tiny foam brush and it quickly dried and looked like shit because unlike the paint it did not smooth out and actually made the chip look worse.
What the hell, why not try a little wet sanding with 1000 grit. Naturally, that made it even worse.
No sense crying over a learning experience. If the next buyer makes a big deal out of it I'll give him $500 bucks and tell him to have the whole hood painted on me.

I like it. I don't have near as many rock chips as that Porsche on my BMW X3 but this process looks much easier and precise than using the artists brushes I use. And no sanding or polishing after the paint drys.
