Default Is there a way to ignore threads?

There is little button you can click to ignore people's posts. When you click it, then that person's posts won't show up on your screen (I think that is how it works anyway, I've never done it).

Does anyone know if there is a way to ignore threads? I know I don't have to read them if I don't want to, but sometimes I can't help myself. Also, there are some threads the very existence of which I find annoying. I'd like to be able to just block them from my screen.

I don't mean to offend anyone here, and I'm sure others have felt the same about threads that I have started. I would just like to erase all the political threads from my screen.

Hmmmm - interesting question and I know how you feel -- there are some I end up reading just because they're there. I know you can subscribe to the threads that you're interested in seeing and then click on "My S2000" to see if there have been comments. I do that most of the time. Also any thread to which you've posted a comment will show up on that "My S2000" page as well. You will also get an e-mail when someone responds to a subscribed thread if you choose that option on your control panel. BTW -- I enjoy your threads.

I don't believe there is any way you can ignore threads. Not sure the admins ever thought of that function. If it's something you want, why not put a thread out about it in Site Info? That's where these kinds of subjects are discussed. If it gets alot of support, perhaps they will add it.

I'd like to ignore threads that contain certain words or phrases:

'Rain again'
'weather'
'vs'
'KIA Gears'
'CAI'

and a few others.

There is no way to ignore theads. You can unsubscribe to them so that they don't appear in "My S2000".

I am curious why you'd want to ignore threads at the risk of missing something that you might want to see. There are threads that I don't care for but I still look at them just to see the direction of the conversation. Those threads that I want no part of, I simply don't go into.

I don't even have anyone on my ignore list. In spite of the fact that there are a few (mostly not Vintage or preVints) who I don't care for, I still prefer to see everything and pick and choose what I want to spend my time on.

Maybe we could have a Legal Vintage forum and and Illegal Vintage forum.....

Seriously....I use the MyS2000 as a screen/filter and mostly read from the threads that I've selected. I also ignore the threads about weather/ chat but respect the first amendment write of those authors...

I'm also glad that the mods have avoided Sticking a lot of threads to the top
