Things to do in Spring Fling area?
I know I can do an internet search, and I will, but would appreciate any input from the locals as to points of interest in the area Spring Fling will be held. Winchester, VA is it?
We may extend our trip on either side of SF and would be looking for the usual scenic areas,
ops, places to eat (not gourmet, sorry Ken
), easy hiking trails and the like.
Thanks for whatever info you can share.

Yes, 2-3" for us. No big deal, but it's cold and raw out. I've been cold ALL day as my office isn't nice and warm when the sun isn't shining. Had hoped to stay in and stay warm tonight thinking of Spring Fling, but Mom needs help with her checking account, so I'm heading back out. Gotta do what you gotta do....
Bump for what to do in Winchester. Hey Lainey, I think there are some nice roads nearby, but I'm guessing they will be part of the Saturday drive. The hotel has a "things to do" page and most of it looks like Civil War stuff or scenic routes. DC looks to be a couple of hours away, but I'm not sure how we would manage that with parking, transportation and walking.

taking, maybe head into the old downtown area for lunch or whatever. Likely will skip Civil war stuff this trip. When are you and Barbara heading down?
Can't wait...need some time away.
Here's one place I plan to visit: The Patsy Cline House, where she lived until she got married at the age of 21.
For those of you too young to remember, Patsy was a singer back in the late 50's and early 60's who recorded such songs as "I Fall to Pieces":

and her biggest hit, "Crazy"

I know I'm
, since I have both these records on my Seeburg Jukebox!

Not really sure we are going. Barbara and I will discuss it further. If we go, it will probably be the usual "leave Mass on Thursday arrive at the meet on Friday" kind of drive in order to break things up. Probably the same two day trip going back. Neither one of us care for the forced 10 hour drives.
