I'm getting a late start so help me out gang. Are there lots of pit stops on Skyline Drive? I don't have space diapers like one guy we know .

Is there a traveling channel designated just in case we see someone on the road? I'll hit SD from Rt. 66. I plan to leave my house around 10am and it takes about an hour to get over to that part of VA.

Did I read where you can't go above 45mph on there?

Oh, and Ken (the crazy one), did you see where I put my radio when you gave it back to me. Or was it the sane Ken? Anyway, I can only find one. Guess that's all I really need, though. Details!

Oh, and I'm leaving work at 12:30 today and just in case I don't log on tomorrow before I leave, consider this my "We're Rolling" shout out for tomorrow.

Roll on my brothers and sisters! Roll on!

There are very FEW places on the Drive. Go before you go and don't think about waterfalls, rain drops, or rivers for the drive. If you go from I-66 down to Afton, you're not going that far. The speed limit on both Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive is 45 mph. It's federal so don't push it. When we did the last rehearsal drive there, our official radar detector said that the Federal cop we saw lit us up like a Christmas tree when he saw us coming toward him.
I'm not sure which Ken category I fall under, but if you had your radio at Gettysburg, it's the other one (Ken that is).

I'm out of here at noon to do the car wash/wax thing before we hit the road. We'll decide this afternoon if we're going to be there tonight or tomorrow.

Drive gently G-Rod. See you soon.

We're planning on leaving in the mid-to late afternoon. This is the first time we've only had a 90 minute drive to a meet. It feels great. I'm really hoping Jim and Patty get to come by here tomorrow before they head up. Patty can cruise up with us and I picked up a flyer on the house next door for her to see. Maybe she can pick it up as a summer home.
You'll never guess where we are. Jim and I I are at a Honda Dealership in Alcoa (near Knoxville) Tennessee. We left the Fontana Resort at about 9:30 AM and were doing the Dragon again, when his S started missfiring. It wouldn't run well under a load and the check engine light came on. His Berlina baby is being diagnosed right now while we wait. We'll see if he can get it fixed or needs to get a rental for the meet.

He was flogg'n it on the Dragon, revving it's little heart out, he said, like it was meant to be driven.

Uh oh. If they have to keep it, maybe they'll let him drive one of the new S cars for the weekend.

He isn't very happy but at least he did get to do the Dragon yesterday and a bit today. He wanted more though! I liked it too.

Oh, by the way, on Tuesday night, I didn't get to Meridian, Mississippi until around 9 PM. I'm really spending more time enjoying the drive and stopping more frequently on this trip compared to my Ohio trip in 2005. Anyway, Jim and I went to the Waffle House for my dinner. I got a big combination with a waffle, 2 eggs, 3 bacon, toast and grits. I ate it all!! And I loved the grits!

Hey, Phil (Ruined 2), reminded me of that song, that mentions the Waffle House hash browns.

Bummer Jim, can't have this happening to you now. Let's hope it's minor and fixable real quick. Keep us posted, Patty. Glad he's with you.
