Time for negotiating with Verizon for home cable
My contract agreement is up with these clowns.
What's the best means for getting the lowest price in my soon to begin "negotiations"?
And no, turning off the cable is not in the cards. LOML says "no friggen way".....
thanks

Are you speaking of DSL or FiOS? Is Comcast or Time Warner an option?
You can try asking for the Customer Retention Department and advise you are about to cancel and ask what promotions are available.
We had Verizon DSL previously. Customer Service was pretty darn bad.
Comcast customer service is much better. I call on a regular basis to try and get the current promotion. It's a PIA and I don't think there are any bargains to be found.

About 3 years ago I switched from Optimum to Verizon Fios. I liked Optimum but the internet was slow. In any event we started at about $142 per month (for the triple play package) and over the years I watched as the bill creep up. It eventually went to about $165. Two months ago the bill went to $190 per month. I called Verizon and told them that the bill was way too high and I'm considering leaving unless they can lower the price. The response was that if I commit to a new two year contract they'd roll the price back to the $142 that I started at, and guarantee that price for two years. I was ready for a fight, but it was really as simple as that.

Yeah, they pretty much operate on that two-year contract deal. I have them for my cell phone and tablet. But Chris, you have quite a few options in the area - Verizon, Dish, DirectTV, Xfinity (Comcast), Cox, etc. So you should be able to negotiate something.

We're on Fios and football (and sports playoff games) is really all we tend to watch. Netflix and Youtube being the majority viewing. High-speed internet, though, is paramount for SWMBO. If the new Magnum PI is as much tongue in cheek as the previews it may prove watchable. Only other "network TV" I watched with any regularity was NCIS but that ended with Ziva left.
Rigging the generator interface box in anticipation for the hurricane preserved the Fios connections in the house.

LOL. As it turns out, all that expired is my "agreement". My discount is valid for another 2 years. Of course it took about 45 minutes of phone jousting to sort that out.
