Default Time projected onto the celing?

While shopping yesterday I noticed an alarm clock which also projects the time onto the ceiling. I think Texas Jim mentioned he had one of those.

I was with my granddaughter and we thought it was neat. She wanted to get one for her Dad/my son, so I bought one.

I went back today and bought another as Rick thought he'd like one. Easier to see what time it is if you wake during the night; and we both do.........often on some nights

I'll have to report back as to if I like this. I don't like any light when sleeping. I toss the comforter over the TV before I go to bed to hide the little red LED on the TV.

Anyone else have one of these gadgets?

If the little red LED light on the TV bothers you, how are you going to sleep with the time projected on the ceiling?

I have an inexpensive water proof watch that has a bright light feature so I can check the time at night. I think that would be a better gift.

My $.02

I have one, but have no good place to use it. My house is a Cape Cod, the master bedroom is on the 2nd floor, I have kneewalls like one would have in an attic. I have no place to put the clock that is high enough that the cats cannot jump up to it. I'm concerned if I put the clock on the bedstand the cats will get up there, and they are not smart enough to know that looking into a laser is a bad idea. I do though think it is a very cool idea, I just wish I could use mine.

It would keep me awake. Can't stand any light when I'm trying to sleep. I usually wear a sleep mask (looks like a little bra for the eyes)

Pssst... No need to drive. It's a short walk.

I don't own one. I don't think I would be able to deal with the amount of light that would be reflected off the mirrors.

Well, the only thing that kept me awake last night was wind and rain, not the red time projected onto the ceiling. The light /display on the actual clock never bothered me, and the way I positioned the LED for the ceiling time wasn't an issue.

So I guess the clock will stay.

Barbara, I have a Timex that lights up when I push on the stem. It was great to be able to see what time it was when I was sleeping in the recliner after the shoulder surgery. However, if using the watch to tell time at night, I may need a bigger face on the watch, or I need to wear my glasses to sleep. I can hardly see the face of the watch, these days.

A short walk to where?

Dean, we don't have the mirrors on our ceiling.

I read a study that stated the room should be totally dark so as not to interrupt sleep. No lights including the alarm, TV, etc. The light on my sports watch died so I need to get a new one in order to check the time when I wake up. Projecting the time on the ceiling would not work for me.

All I know is when I go to bed, I'm tired, and because I'm tired I go to sleep.
If I'm tired no little light is going to keep me awake...
When I was in my 20's I had an apartment in Queens, my bedroom window opened onto an alley, the building on the other side of the alley was the local firehouse.
It took me just 1-month to get adjusted, I could sleep all night, window open, through the sound of the fire sirens going off during the night.
No little red light is going to keep me awake
