tips, tricks, and words-of-caution II: Vintage Version
OK, Rob,
Back on-topic:
Don't ever raise the hood while the windshield wipers are pulled forward away from the windshield. If you do, you'll hear a loud scraping sound & a bang, with a couple of resulting scratches left on the trailing edge of the hood where the arms "caressed" it. Trust me, I learned this only a couple of weeks ago.

Did that twice after washing the car. Had the wipers up so I could wash the windshield. Opened the hood to dry underneath and WHACK! Left "rubber" marks on the hood. Hoping clay bar removes them.

My tip is this. Put Korn in the CD player, tune it in, turn it up, and rip the knobs off.

Do not, REPEAT DO NOT leave your tires upright on your driveway when you take them off for washing.
They WILL fall over, and gouge the rims, and cost you $100's to fix or replace. Carefully lay them down with the outside of the rims UP.

When driving top down, putting up the side windows will greatly cut the road noise and you can carry on a conversation at speed with your passenger, or use the cell phone.
Turn your head toward the closest side window and put that window down before spitting. This will keep the inside of your windows clean. (What? Too obvious???)
