Somehow I doubt too many people here know about Canadian politics. One of my best friends worked for the CBC as a newscaster for a number of years (the FLQ years to dredge up old, long-ago stuff). I spent a number of years observing the NDP, the PQ (Parti Quebecise that is), the Liberals and the Cons bickering. Most civilized arguing I'd ever seen.

Columbus is a good choice. The next best is Pittsburgh but that is a longer haul.

OK - though I've verified that there is room at the Hampton that weekend, and have set aside 20 rooms, it's not final until I return the signed agreement,
In the meantime, I've inquired with the Salt Fork resort, where we used to meet up Saturday, have lunch, then head for Rt. 26.

The rooms there (at the group rate) are $129+tax, banquet costs would be something like $20-$30 per person at a minimum, and you would either be on your own for breakfast in the restaurant or maybe even we do a continental breakfast catered there (I think it could be done for around $10/person.)
Lots of advantages there, as other have mentioned, but a bit pricier, though not by a huge amount. I would figure that I would end up spending about $200 more for the weekend. That's not a deal killer for me, but not something I can ignore.
Thoughts? Please, if this would keep you away, post. Don't be silent, and then not show up.

P.S. Don't forget that drinks in the bar will be more expensive than BYOB.

We may make it late Friday night so we are up for either. I personally like the Hampton.
