The Total Eclipse of the Sun
I know this was discussed in Patty's lightning bug thread, but thought it deserved its own. Here is a pretty interesting website that allows you to plug in your zip code to determine the extent of the eclipse near you, plus other information:

I found them at my local Kroger. Without the price gouge Of course bought a couple pair extra.
This site gets it down to your neighborhood ....

Here is a neat tool for the eclipse.
The times given are in Universal Time, which is similar to Standard Time.
You can scroll out to cover the world, or scroll in to click on your own neighborhood.
The popup gives your Latitude and Longitude and Percent of obscurity & times.

Lots of concern about traffic problems. Expectations up to four times normal traffic from people trying to get to the 100% areas. Overwhelming towns with little population. Also concern about people wearing their special glasses while driving!
Should be a very interesting day. Good luck to all of you headed for the big show. I'm sure everyone is checking the weather reports closely.
Right now showing sunny in DC (80% coverage), but of course that can change by the hour.

^ I’m concerned, too! It’s surprising that the solar eclipse media blitz hasn’t informed all people on the perils of viewing it without eye protection and when and when not to wear the protection. As an example of the uninformed, my sister-in-law asked last Sunday if the viewing was during the night hours.
