Turning ?
Any vints had a traumatic birthday milestone? Age had never bothered me until I turned 50. I didn't dread it in advance- but when it actually happened I went into a giant depression seemingly out of nowhere- took me a month or two to get over it. Now I'm looking at 60 next year and it doesn't bother me at all. Have you had a similar experience?

50 was no problem. I don't know how I will react to 60 though. Its still about 14 months away. I'd love to hear how other more *hurumph* senior members have handled it.

You may think this is silly, but 25 was my worst.
I had mixed feelings about 25. On the one hand I knew I was no longer a kid and had to be more responsible, but I also felt that I was not ready to be accepted by 'adults' as a peer yet. I also realized that a qtr. century had passed and thought I could have done more.

When I was 12 years old, I remember singing "I am seventeen going on eighteen" from Sound of Music. Fast forward several decades. Whenever I think about that song, I cringe now. How did I get to be so old now? I am utterly disgusted. Thank you for reminding me...

I guess I qualify.
When I hit 30, I thought I had one foot in the grave. It traumatized me very much.
40 was no big deal. I still had most of my teeth and some hair.
50 was a little troublesome but again I had some of my teeth and a little hair.
60 ho hum.
70 was a real eye opener. I count my teeth on one hand, that is when I can remember how to count that high
Hair? Well I still go to the barber shop but not as often as I once did.
71 is just around the corner.
I think it is.
You whippersnappers have a lot to look forward to.

50 is nifty, but 60+ is great ( more senior discounts ). The only problem I see is more time and money is spent on helping the Doctors with there country club memberships and boats.

50 came up relatively unannounced and smacked me in the mouth.
more precisely, 2 weeks before I turned 50 I popped my left knee and have been fighting with it since.
I still have to set up the appt for that special doctors visit.
all in all I much preferred turning 18
