Rocco lives (lived?) a few miles from me. One of my friends in high school dated his daughter. So, like Terrelle Pryor, this was another spotlight on an area very close to me. When's my turn???

It was fun to watch having someone hometown-y to root for. Although my mother was torn between the two. She LOVES Tiger.

And while Mediate and Woods were both just outstanding, there was also the opposite end of the spectrum. That 9 by Mickelson on 13 on Saturday made him look like, er, me -- someone who hasn't swung a club since high school. And then there were all the 3- and a few 4-putts. Sheesh.

Mostly, the weekly pro tournament on TV doesn't grab me, but that Open sure did. HPH
Phils is agreat player but he melts when going up against Tiger. He thinks and strategizes too much instead of just playing the game. The 3 wood gamble was case in point. Tiger hits his share of errant tee shots but he hits it far enough to recover most of the time due to his creativiity and then the phenomenal putting kicks in. He is the best reader of greens in the history of golf and his focus is unbelieveable.

Dont know if you have all heard, Tiger is done for the year his acl is toast and he has 2 tibia fractures. Knowing this in hindsight its incomprehensible how good he really is to be able to play 5 rounds and win the US open with that kind of injury!

He'd make a good hockey player if he wasn't so small.

He's actually taller than most hockey players and probably stronger than most as well. I don't know about his skating ability though.

Tiger's performance was even more amazing now that we know what was up with his knee.
How he managed that with no ACL, two stress fractures and a torn meniscus is beyond me.

It sounded like a great event, but I didn't get to watch any of it except the highlights.
