Vacation Plans - 2025 Edition
We’ve been at hammock cove. Saw a little of the next resort, the Verandah, and made a tour pickup at the St. James.
did an all island tour, went to Shirley heights Sunday, a flight and tour to barbuda, I golfed, the snorkeling. I went to devils bridge 2x alone, once on the tour.
we won’t be back. There’s too many places in the world to see is my perspective on travel. Cindy would come to an island every year or do a beach vacation really. So we compromise. Next time, we’ll pick a different island

Is that the Pineapple Beach Club?
We left a little disappointed. Our resort had less than 60 units. Adults only resort, individual villas. Most were 1 bedroom, about 400 sf, plus another 200 sf bathroom/close combination, and outdoor maybe another 300 sf broken into 2 chairs and a little table on the left of the pool, a small plunge pool, 2 recliners, a swing seat, then a 100sf area with a mini bar and table/chairs. The unit itself was great. (The website says 1080sf total, so I was pretty close.). There were a few larger units. We had an ocean view (so 2nd row). The 1st row, oceanfront didn't have beach access because of the cliffs and we could see the water fine.
What got us was the bit of inconsistency with the daily routine. Some days, if we had something from the mini-bar and left the glasses out, they would get cleaned/replaced. Other days, they wouldn't. We had 4 bath towels in the bathroom - some days, all got replaced, some days, we got 2 only. The beach towels in the room weren't cleaned if we used them and left them in an obvious spot that they were used. There's a housekeeping group and an ambassador group - I guess they both do some of the work, but didn't communicate well. If we asked for something, we got it however. We'd leave any room service trays outside the door. Housekeeping clearly did the room, but left the plates? I'd have expected them to take them and deal with the other team on "their side", not leave them to take later.
Even in the restaurant - one night, the tablecloth when we sat down had some stains. Did they not noticed when they flipped the table or did they not flip the table it before we sat down? Food in the main restaurant was excellent. The casual breakfast/lunch place was good - but very slow. The first day we sat down around 930 and ordered yogurt, eggs/bacon and a side of pastries- It took almost 30 minutes to get served. Really?
The staff were overly friendly - without a doubt and did accommodate everything we asked for. We just expected that they'd have been proactive or more consistent in their delivery. I had won the hotel portion, so our entire stay was just the all-inclusive cost for us, plus anything special and the resort fees. If we had paid full price, those little things would have warranted a visit to the office at some point.
