Default A Vintage Gathering - Lake George, NY - 10/7-9/05

Winter will be upon us soon. It will be cold and snowy. Many of us will tuck away our S2000s and at best only take them out for an occasional drive.

In that spirit, a few of us have been talking about a last Vintage gathering before winter. It would be a small gathering, limited to 15 to 20 cars in the cozy Upstate New York village of Lake George. Scheduled for the weekend of Friday evening, October 7th until Sunday, October 9th. There will be a chill in the air, perfect for a Saturday top down motoring type drive through the countryside planned and coordinated by Levi (NNY S2K). We could include some seminars on Saturday afternoon or simply a little stroll through town and some leaf peeping. We would make some sort of arrangement for dinner, and I'm sure something like a spontaneous oldies songfest would happen. You know what kind of things happen when Vintage people get together.

Upstate New York, much like New England is magnificent in the fall. Lake George Village, like the rest of the area, is full of things to see and do. What a nice way for those of us in Vintage (and of course the known preVints) to have a last get together before the snow starts to fall. This gathering is reserved for Vintage members and known preVints only.

Jerry (pas2k) has found an charming inn, Stillbay, that can accommodate us and would provide breakfast and the use of a room for seminars or most anything else that we might want to plan. You can view the inn at stillbay inn. The owner is willing to set aside a block of rooms at a discount rate if we act quickly.

If you are interested please post to this thread. I will keep a list in this post. Please respond quickly so that we can reserve the inn.

We are very interested in attending, although it is almost 650 miles from home. Stillbay looks very nice!

I'll be there....and you can also pencil in Kathy.

I stopped in at the Still Bay Resort last weekend....it's a very cozy spot on the west shore of the Lake. The owner is a 'vintage piece of work'

Pencil us in. We hope to make it.

Please don't start the activities too early on Saturday, as we will have to do our driving on Friday evening. We can't take Friday off, as we will have just returned from a vacation.

What better way to get used to being back from vacation but to head out for another weekend with S2000 peeps

Patty,

You and Andy should come east for this one. Fall is one of the most magnificent seasons in the Northeast.

Dennis,

I've added you to the list.
OK, I'm biting. Can you tell me the airport(s) I might use to fly in for this? I looked at the Still Bay Resort site but I don't have it placed in relation to NY state yet. I'm a real sucker for lakes and Vintage folk and this meet will have both.

Come on Patty! We'd love to meet you and Andy!

We'll even try to sneak out of work early on the Friday so we can have a drink with folks before they hit the sack.
