Fires are 40-45 miles north of us so we are in no danger, from that one. No word on how it started. Cool and moist air is surely helping with the control.
A week ago it was 103, today the high is 71. Just frigging weird.

Along with the cool and moist air, i Hope much of California receives a torrential rainfall.

I wish you the best...

Here in So Cal (Lake forest, Mission Viejo) it's hot, in the mid 90s. It's still going to be in the high 80s next week. Ugh. What's going on where you are?

I'm heading back up to Kennedy Meadows next week to get out of the heat. I was there last Thurs thru Saturday and it was in the high 70s/low 80s during the day, and 30s at night. Ah. Relief. Great campfire weather.

I’ll be visiting relation in Durango, CO area for three days next week. It will be somewhat cooler than where I live near Denver. It has been hot and dry here for over a month and this trip may offer a little relief to what we’ve been exposed to.

Aside from the more favorable weather, the Durango area and nearby San Juan Mountain areas are always a treat to visit.

Big rains here after not much for about two months - 2-5" last night. The next few days will also be rainy, then we'll see whether we get any more from Tropical Storm/Hurricane Joaquin.

Third day of rain here. Dark and gloomy, feels like winter already.

I noticed that, MsP. We've had a lot of flooding with the King Tides and heavy rains over the past WEEK. More rain is headed our way, especially over the weekend. Garden City, Georgetown, Pawley's Island and Litchfield have all had several streets closed due to flooding.
