we've transitioned from snowing vigorously to furiously.
periods where it hard to see the end of the driveway 200 ft away.

No shoveling here. Buckets full or rain. Dropped my Kindle in a puddle. Glad I had it in a case.

Maple City, MI, a town we visit when we vacation up north, has 3-1/2 feet of snow on the ground - the most snow of any city east of the Rockies!

Of course that’s nothing compared to Lake Tahoe in California which has 24 feet on the ground!!

well I managed to procrastinate until the very last minute.
finally went out and cleaned up with the snow blower because it looked like we would finally shift over to rain during the second wave.
just finished the yard and went out with the shovel to tidy up in front of the garage doors where the blower can't get to when the skies opened and it started pouring.

It's been my experience if rain is coming it's better to leave the snow as is. If you clear it you have a much greater risk of serious ice forming. But if you leave the snow it protects the pavement and absorbs the rain.

That may have something to do with the fact that she does not leave the house, even to get the mail, or fill her beloved bird feeders that I had to shovel a path too so that I could fill them. And that I was the one that spent about two hours on our vintage Wheel Horse garden tractor clearing our driveway of the 15" of wet heavy snow this afternoon when it turned to freezing rain.

We got a couple of more inches tonight. So I get to have "FUN" again tomorrow.
