Two inches so far from this storm. That make ten inches for the month of February, and still 39 hours left.

Something to look forward to?? I think not. I live south of Boston.

A significant winter snowstorm is likely Monday, said forecasters who believe the heaviest snow will fall just south of Boston.

"The storm may impact both the morning and evening commutes Monday," said Storm Team 5 meteorologist Harvey Leonard. "This will be plowable snow for most."

"All of us will get snow," said Leonard, adding that current computer models show a moderate snowstorm for most of Massachusetts, but a heavier snowfall south of Boston.

Current computer models predict perhaps a 6-inch snowfall for much of the state, but much higher amounts for the south shore, southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod. Lighter amounts are forecast well north of Boston.

Had to get up early and snow blow this morning. Usually I wait until I get home, but expected big drifts from the high winds last night. I'm also expecting a delivery today and they won't attempt the long driveway if it isn't clear. My wife was late to work again. She has to cross a long elevated bridge over a bay and today it was a wreck fest. She says at least 9 cars were in the wall. We've had 82" of snow so far. Not a lot for this area, but add the winds and bitter cold this year and we're sooo ready to retire and get out!

The rain came and was preceded by super strong winds. It was windier than I've ever seen it since I moved in, 6 years ago, tomorrow. I put more photos in the Odds and Ends thread.

^2-28-2014. It's been a long time since I've seen it this wet!

Patty, I was watching the news coverage on TV, I was surprised how green it was there, I was thinking everything would have been nothing but dirt.

Dodged a bullet. Just a little snow tonight. Much better than the 10" they were talking.

I wouldn't count those chickens just yet Lainey.
The reason the storm is staying south is because it's too cold except that it's not.
My thermometer is still saying 33° so it would appear that hte high pressure is not building in yet.

I'm going to be in your neck of the woods for the next two days ( Newport) so I'm not real keen on a big dump down there either.

Levi, you know how the TV presents what they want. The entire state was brown before the rains. This time of year is the green time before it all dries out and turns brown again, but it wasn't. Now, we'll have a tremendous green sprout, right away. The snow has been falling and that should help a lot with the drought since lots of California's water supply comes from the snow melt.

California's drought
^This shows two photos of California. One was taken on Jan. 18, 2013. The next was exactly one year later on Jan. 18, 2014.
