It's my first time to vote since I became a citizen, and the polling station is less than a mile from my house. I plan on being there around 6am when they open, as I usually leave for work by 6:15 anyway.

throwing out absentee ballots.

Makes you wonder if your absentee ballot ever gets counted.

My pollig station is the middle school a couple miles from my house. I too am one of the people who try to get there very close to opening time. I see what the place looks like after work, and as much as I feel it is important to vote, I'm not so sure I would stand in line for hours upon end to do so.

Plus, this year for me it could be more important than ever to get there early, you see I have no clue as to what I'll actually be using to vote. The media is so hard to follow, and what gets used is so district specific I have no idea if I will have the old manual machines I have always used, a new computer system, or a crayon and a piece of paper...

Voted yesterday at luch time. Spoke with the folks running the polling place and they stated that they were at about 3,000 / day in early voting. On the news last night they stated that 1/3 of all registered voters in the 17 largest counties in Texas had already voted.

Are they going to report the results of the early voting before election day, or are they going to report the results all at once?

Another sign that the end times are upon us. First it was Saturday evening mass, now early voting.

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. And the time to vote is the Tuesday after the Second Monday in November. (Did you know that?...In years where November starts on a Tuesday, election day falls on the third Tuesday of the month...And now I'm just showin' off. )

Actually I'm just jealous. If we have early voting here I haven't heard about it yet.
