I have voted absentee for about the last ten years.

I early voted this week and every day there was a 1 1/2 to 2 hour line. I should have early voted the first week it was available.

I am very confused about the "third Tuesday" statement.

According to Wikipedia:

Election Day in the United States is the day set by law for the selection of public officials by popular ballot. For federal offices, it occurs on the first Tuesday following the first Monday of November (so the earliest possible date is November 2 and the latest November 8). Presidential elections are held every four years.

So, how could it be the "third Tuesday"?

My polling location changed due to a school renovation project, so I made sure I was there by 6:05 this morning because I had no idea how many districts they were going to put in one location. Wow, was it ever easy, in and out in less than 10-minutes.

I will confess, the idea of a free dognut at Dunkin was tempting, but I passed...

I also had no problem, less than 10 minutes.

We got to our polling place at 5:40 am for a 6 am opening. There was a line already, but not a long one. But right after we arrived, the crowds descended!! No early voting in VA. Have to have a reason to vote absentee. Took us 30 minutes once the polling place opened.

^ Yup, I never go before 6:00, always a bit after so people like you have already voted and moved on.
