What I do find curious is how the pc police have just about made every other "old expression" as you refer to it taboo and deemed offensive to some group... with exception to Chrisitans and esp. white Christians who live in the south, "we" IMO are fair game unfortunately.
The south is well known for it's pockets of Christian fundamentalism - a band of folks not well known for their critical thinking skills, their level of education, their tolerance of intellectualism, or their tolerance of anything that opposes their provincial views.
