We flew to San Diego to celebrate our 38th. Staying at a Marriott overlooking the marina. While it's sizzling at home, it's in the 60s here, sun peeks out once in a while. Still a change of scenery we both needed. Didn't rent a car, have all the local relatives driving to us.

So I took a couple of weeks off work to get some work done around the property.
I dug about 600ft of trenches and laid in some piping...using a ripper on the back of the tractor, of course:
...then I laid out the concrete troughs and hooked them up:
...and rounded off the days by doing some general clean-up of old posts etc:
I also:
- repaired the water feed to various locations around the property
- fixed a bunch of leaks (work in progress)
- moved a whole lot of furniture around so we could paint half the floor in the middle garage, then moved it back again so we could paint the other half
- finally replaced the broken posts in the fence that was taken out by the flying calf shelter in a storm last year
- got started on replacing the roof joists on the tractor shed in preparation for reroofing
- dug the first hole where the new walkway between the house and garage is going (rain stopped play early on this one)
- bought a 14in chop saw so I can cut down the drive shaft for the PTO-driven wood chipper
- bought a batten stapler to save me having to manually hammer in 10,000-odd fence staples
- spent some quality time with my wife that wasn't crammed into a lunch break or overrun by children
Still lots to get done around the place before the next batch of calves turn up next week but I'm finally getting on top of some long-delayed projects.

Nice...does not sound as if you will run out of things to do anytime soon!

somehow we've made it 40 years!!
didn't do anything special, figured we'll wait until after my angiogram wednesday.
I had arranged a tee time at the high end course near our house but golf isn't on the agenda right now.

Good luck with your test. I have a relative who is going through some circulation/heart issues right now and it is a real drag. Scheduled for an ultrasound soon to see how blood is flowing. Cannot move well at all and is very tired after not much exertion. I told this person to set goals lower for each day so more attainable and frustration/depression does not take over.
Outside activities were very restricted yesterday. Heat index was about 100 and humidity high. Ugh. Another hot day today but rain and much cooler temps tomorrow.

Reminds me of a diagnostic ordeal I probably documented here once before a few years ago.
Before my GP would prescribe a med he wanted to put me on he ordered a cardiology checkup.
Cardiologist did a cardiogram. Results were inconclusive.
So he did a exercise stress EKG. Results were inconclusive.
So he did a thallium stress test. Results were inconclusive.
So he did a cath. Results were...no problems.
Shortly thereafter my cardiologist bought a new boat.
Good luck with your diagnostics, Jerry. Hoping your results show no problems too.
