What is wrong with me?
Dennis, I forgot that you had RA too, until I reread most of this thread. Jeez, I started this thread last June and I'm just now getting a handle on this, 9 months later.
I think the Enbrel is helping already. My wrists feel better. I was running my fingers through my sweetheart's hair last night, and I didn't have to stop due to wrist pain.

My wife's RA became evident in 1980. It took about a year before it was stabilized by intramuscular gold salt injections. She has now been on that regimen of injections every 4-5 weeks. She has not lost any joint mobility although she has fairly severe RA. Her energy level has steadily decreased over the years, although some of that is due to the Sj
^Herman, I don't know why Kaiser Permanente doesn't even mention gold. I did read that some people get/take/use it, on the Arthritis Foundation forum. Just want to update. It's been 6 days since my first Enbrel shot and tomorrow (Wednesday) I'll give myself the second one. It's really helping, a lot! Before the first shot, it hurt me to pull the covers up in bed, with my right hand. I would wince in pain to do it. Not anymore. My right knee swelling has gone way down and I can see there is a knee cap under there, now. I can walk barefoot without pain. My outlook on my life has really improved.
