What are you doing this weekend?

Been thinking of moving to Alabama or Tennessee myself. State and local taxes are lower there than Georgia.

Note to self, "make plans to move south."

If you'd rather not see snow ever again, the gulf coast is beautiful, but between those pesky hurricaines and the 100% humidity, bad hair days will be something you'll just have to not fret over ... bless your heart

Why thank you Pant, I'll try to remember those things. So, to stay on topic,\ (ah-hem), this weekend, I'll continue to get rid of junk that I don't want to take south with me when I move. That should take me right up to retirement time (which is a long way off). That and raking leaves.
Speaking of raking, what do you guys who have leaves falling at this time of year do? Do you wait for them all to fall or do you rake them as they fall (once a week) so they don't pile up and become a bigger job? What's the logic? This has been a friendly debate in our neighborhood for years.

Does this mean you're back or still in Spain? Does the Prado still have the exhibition of Van Gogh during his darker (depressed) years? I remember being scared by it way back when.
You sure do get around!

Second trip to Paris this year, first trip to Madrid. I'll let you know about the Van Gogh (I think it's still there though).

Nope, leaving on Friday so I figure on Saturday I'll be drinking coffee on the Plaza de Mayor and trying to get over the jet lag.

Alexandria comes around and vacuums up the leaves and composts them after you rake them to the curb. The compost is available for free for Alexandria residents. They come about 5 times over the next 3 months. I have 2 LARGE oak trees in my yard and a ton next door so we get lots of leaves.

I, for one, am glad that Val and Maury aren't my neighbors. Letting leaves blow onto the neighbors' lawns!
Due to a small house lot and a replacement septic system (TMI?) we have no trees in our back yard, though we have nice tall hedges on the perimeter. The same is true for our immediate neighbors, so not too many leaves to contend with. The park across the street has lots of trees and we have two small ones in our front yard. Those leaves that land on our front yard are easily chopped up with the lawn mower. No need to let them blow onto someone else's lawn.
