Default When You Do A Good Thing, Post It Here!

This is inspired by a thread in another forum I read. Did you do a good deed today? Inspire the rest of us to do the same thing.

A post in that other thread convinced me to register as a blood marrow donor. I sent in my tissue typing cheek swabs today. http://www.BeTheMatch.org

Good for you. When I do a good thing - it could be a while - I'll let you know.

Although I gave some nice C&C in the photo forum and warmly greeted my NY Upstate pals this morning.

What a wonderful idea for a thread!

With so many negative things going on in the world, it will be very refreshing to concentrate on all of the good things instead.

And, what a wonderful thing for you to register as a bone marrow donor!

I was interested in reading a little more about the process, so I looked through the website that you posted. It took me a little bit of time and navigation through the site to find the FAQ page. I thought others might be interested, too, so here is a link to the FAQ page.

Donating Bone Marrow FAQ's...

I did notice that one cannot donate after one's 61st birthday.

I do little nice things every day. I try to smile and have fun with the people I come in contact daily. It makes both of us feel good!

I'd tend to keep my good deeds to myself...I try to treat others as I want to be treated, but I'll see if I can go out of my way to do something that is "post worthy."

Related to transplants:

If you haven't already - sign up as an organ donor. I read this article a few days ago:

Kidneys From Deceased Donors With Acute Renal Failure Expand Donor Pool

Nobody should think they're too sick (or too old) to be an organ donor. If people who died from acute renal failure can donate their kidneys, you never know what will be useful.

It's easy to do, and it's a Good Thing to do.

Darn...This thread would have given me the perfect excuse to solicit pledges for Heart Walk on my American Heart Association web page. But the walk was last Saturday.

Today I answered three really stupid end-user computer questions without killing anyone.
