I watched most of it. I'm happy that Crash won best movie. It was very good and I even bought it, after seeing it with my son. I would not have gone to Crash if he didn't need me to accompany him, as it has an R rating.

I was also very glad that Brokeback Mountain got the adapted screenplay award (I think it was). I loved that movie and I know a huge percentage of males won't see it but I really loved it.

The song that won was lousy, in my book.

Crash winning was a bit of a surprise. It was a feel good film, but virtually all the other contenders were better overall productions, in my opinion.

The song that won wasn't a song.

I have no clue what Crash is about but it's clear it was a surprise winner.

I'm not sure I'd call Crash a feel good film. I liked it a lot, I enjoy 'ensemble' films. It's out in video.

Do you think the industry was afraid to vote for Brokeback? Even in Hollywood?

I didn't see it but I can't image that two guys playing huggy face in woods is the bases for the best movie of the year. But no matter, even if it is, we all know the Oscars have overlooked some really wonderful movies and actors and will continue to.

I didn't find Crash a feel good movie at all. It was one that made people think about their own predjudices in my opinion. It didn't make me feel good, in any case.

I think men in Hollywood, like men everywhere, refused to see Brokeback Mountain so it didn't have a chance of winning.

I watched the show, mostly to see who was wearing what. It used to be that whatever movie won Best Director also won Best Picture. That doesn't seem to happen now. I went to bed after Best Actress. Not any surprises, really, except maybe for Crash. But many people thought it might upset Brokeback Mountain.

I cared about the Oscar's last year, but not this year.

BTW, Look for the sequel to Brokeback Mountain in 2008. It's called Cornhole Canyon.

I don't think Hollywood stayed away from Brokeback becuase of the subject matter. After all, it won three Oscars, including Best Director which is one of the "Big Four." If anything, I think Hollywood would embrace it for its subject matter. Patty may have the right take on it. Maybe the guys in Hollywood didn't go.
