We have had a few instances were riders were killed hitting a wire, that is one of the reasons why it is good to stay on the trail,

We had a tractor trailer driver hit a woman head on here a couple of days ago killing her. People reported he was driving erratically and crossed the center line. The thing that really gets me is that they reported on the news that he needed a translator at his video court appearance as he didn’t speak or understand English. My question is how did this guy get a CDL?

I know in California you can get your driver's license test in many languages. How the hell does that work with written signs? The guy who killed her obviously was screwed up so really had nothing to do with reading signs.

This may come across as sounding racist, but we have thousands of east Indian immigrants who come to our country and the first thing they do is drive transport trucks, and delivery vehicles (amazon and others), and they are the worst drivers on the road. These people who left countries where they drove scooters, motorbikes, and rickshaws, then they come to our country and drive transport trucks. Search up the Humboldt Bus tragedy in Manitoba Canada, a transport driver drove through a stop sign and clobbered a bus at highway speeds that was carrying the Humboldt hockey team, many killed and injured. The driver was inexperienced , he was to be deported long ago but is still fighting deportation.

I see these people driving these trucks and delivery vehicles rolled over in ditches on sunny dry days on our highways all the time. They have no concept of how to properly load a transport truck to balance the weight, they tip over on highway entrance and exit ramps all the time.

The ones who drive dump trucks are hitting bridges on our highways regularly as they drive down the highway with the dump bed fully elevated in the vertical position. They forget to lower the bed after they dump a load, then they drive off with the bed fully elevated. It is complete chaos on our highways. One dump truck company had drivers who hit 5 bridges in the past year by driving on highways with their dump bed fully elevated to the max height position, just nuts.

All of our transport trucks are supposed to be governed electronically to 105 km/hr , I see these new drivers passing me when I am driving 115 km/hr as they hack the governor system on their trucks.

The Amazon drivers deliver packages on our street to the wrong addresses all the time, my wife seen a guy deliver packages to four wrong houses on our street last week, and one of them was ours. We had a package left at our house that was addressed for 7 Dalewood Road, yet we live at 9 Circlewood Drive ! , they can't read , let alone drive. I had to take the package to the lady who lived at 7 Dalewood road because I was a nice person, it ended up being about 5 miles from my home, not even in the same neighbourhood , not even close. These people get jobs and drivers licenses out of cracker jack boxes.

^^One thing we (many of us) noticed when i was working, was that semi drivers from Canada were mostly Indian or from the Middle East and they couldn’t drive worth a damn. They would back into things, run across the lawn and generally were terrible!

The entire shipping department would stand and watch them plus they would call me to document when the drivers damaged things around them.

Our roads have become extremely dangerous and deadly to drive on and more and more people who drive on them are getting away with murder. A local family was coming home from dinner here and were killed. The occupants were a man, his wife, daughter and mother in law. He was the only survivor. A person who had just stolen a car was driving fast at night with no headlights. The family was making a left turn on the road this driver was driving on. They did not see him. He T-boned their vehicle and all but the man were thrown out of the car on to the roadway. This POS got out of the car, and stole another nearby vehicle. He was captured, went on trial and got a 1 year suspended sentence. The entire county was shocked. We have reports of numerous drivers getting picked up for a DUI. Some are repeat offenders and have killed people yet nothing is done about it. Our legal system sucks and needs to come down harder on these reckless drivers. Very sad.

Yes things are ridiculously lenient in our legal system I see it all the time here people are arrested over and over again and nothing is done to either help them or keep them locked up.
Getting back to having a CDL and not speaking or knowing the language in the country you are working in I think of as an example myself going to Germany for instance and getting a CDL and loading up a trailer truck and driving it across the country. Since I don’t speak or read German I don’t think it would go too well.

They have the Trailer Truck driver listed as being from Ontario so maybe it is easier to get a CDL up there but I would still think there are laws for when drivers cross the border into the U.S. This guy was hauling a load of mulch didn’t say in the report if he had loaded it himself.

Yup , it is horrible David, I am glad you witnessed it as most people are just oblivious to it until something bad happens, and it often does.

There are companies around here who issue driver licenses to their employees, so the company does the training and is issuing the licenses to these new drivers and employees, I don't know how it is done legally but they do it and they advertise as looking for driving employees and assisting with licensing and training. It is some kind of scam for sure. Sorry to hear of these stories happening elsewhere.
