Default Is your lawn brown?

Despite lawn sprinklers, the recent heat wave has turned my lawn brown. Is it dead now? I've never seen it this bad. How is your lawn? What do you do to keep it green or revive it?

No. 1 defense is to not cut it short in the first place. I have my John Deere at the highest setting. My neighbors are all brown and our's is green.

Rick doesn't cut the lawn too short, and we've been using lots of water. We still have some brown spots on it though. It's been a very hot and dry summer so far.

We have a sprinkler system that is set to water every 3 days. In addition, I cut the lawn at the highest setting. In spite of that, we have several brown spots. The heat has been oppressive here and I have noticed that all my neighbors' yards look similar.

Will the grass "come back?" If so, when?

Rick really let ours go one year as he got tired of the watering. He had to do a lot of re-seeding to get it looking good again. He didn't feel ours was "coming back" on it's own.

Was going to get a sprinkler system installed this year, but we have had so much rain I just lost interest for this year.

We have had drought like spells for the last three years, this year it comes down in buckets.

Green lawns are a plot by the "environmentalist/ global warming" freaks to take over the world. First we have green lawns, then green buildings and homes; soon there will be green people from outer space....all illegal aliens.

(j/k....the heat is getting to me )
