do the headlights come with uv protection coat on them??? and if so Im assuming these kits sand them off??? anyone ever followed these kit with a spray of clear????
From what I understand, yes, headlights come out of the factory with some kind of protective coating. But by the time headlights have hazed over, this coating has apparently already failed.

I've never shot them with clear myself, but would be interested in trying it. Commercial outfits that restore headlights often guarantee their work, and I don't know how they do that without recoating the headlights with something more permanent than LSP.

Looks great, I just ordered the kit to do on my headlights... even though one of the hasn't even started to oxidize. How much time would you recommend on each step?

To be honest, your headlights really weren't that bad before. What's worse than the scratches is the discoloration that can come with age.

I had an accident in my Toyota Celica about 18 months ago and had to replace a front headlight. Now I've got one headlight that is 11 years old (dull and slightly yellow) and one that is nearly new (bright and clear). Plastx certainly helped the scratches and clarity of the light, but did nothing for the discoloration. I might try again some other day.
